Activity name: Dragons and Lions Unite to Celebrate 75 Years of Nation Building

Event date: September 28, 2024

Venue: Tuen Mun Tang Shiu Kin Sports Ground

Activity goal: To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 180th anniversary of the Hong Kong Police Force, 90 primary and secondary schools, along with kindergartens in the Tuen Mun District, joined by members of the Junior Police Call and Senior Police Call, performed a dance featuring 75 lion dances and 180 dragon dances at the Tang Shiu Kin Sports Ground in Tuen Mun on September 28th. Over 2,000 people participated in the event. This occasion not only allowed children to learn about the history of China’s founding but also provided them with the opportunity to experience traditional Chinese dragon and lion dance culture, fostering a stronger sense of national identity.

Activity goal: Through outdoor education activities, children can understand the concept of carbon neutrality and recognize the role of forests and trees in this process. By using games and interactive methods, we guide children to appreciate the importance of low-carbon living, as well as waste sorting and recycling, thereby enhancing their interest in environmental protection.

Activity goal: By visiting the “H2OPE Centre”, students can learn about information related to water resources, understand the sources of water used in daily life and the reasons for cherishing drinking water, and experience the impact of water shortages on daily life, in order to cultivate children’s attitude of cherishing resources.
