Name of Activity 1: National Flag Raising Ceremony

Activity goal:
- Get to know the national flag and national anthem of the country from an early age.
- Get to know the etiquette to observe during the flag-raising ceremony
- Build an attitude of respect for the national anthem, flag and flag raising ceremony
Activity introduction:
Members of the Road Safety Patrol of our school lead the teachers and students of the school to hold the national flag raising ceremony every Friday. In addition, on New Year’s Day (January 1), the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Establishment Day (July 1) and National Day (October 1), there are also school wide flag raising ceremonies to cultivate students’ sense of belonging to the country and enhance their national identity.

Name of Activity 2: National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival Celebrations

Activity goal:
- Understand the origin of National Day and its meaning to “oneself”, allowing students to establish Chinese identity from an early age.
- Understand the traditional customs and the meaning of reunion during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Activity introduction:
1. On the morning of September 29 (Friday), during the school day, the school held a “Parent-Child Lantern Riddles Guessing” activity. On behalf of the school, the principal presented mooncakes donated by friendly organizations to students and parents, allowing students to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with their families.
2. Before class on the same morning, all the teachers and students of the school held a flag-raising ceremony in the auditorium to welcome the National Day.
3. The class today was mainly about games. In addition to the foreign English teachers playing games with the students in the auditorium, the teachers also played Mid-Autumn Festival-themed games with the students in the classroom. The principal also distributed Mid-Autumn Festival lantern design handmade bags to the students, allowing students and their families to create unique lanterns together and enjoy the moonlight with the lanterns on the Mid-Autumn Festival night.

Activity goal:
- Invite ceramic artists to schools to hold workshops for teachers and parents, and then invite parents to participate in pottery creation workshops with their children, and then encourage parents to sign up for the “Treasure Hunt – The Parent-child Pottery Design Competition”, which organized by the Hong Kong Children’s Arts and Cultural Exchange Association, to promote parent-child communication and collaboration, and to understand the art of ceramics. item of traditional Chinese culture.

Name of Activity 4: Opportunities for the Elderly Project

Activity goal:
- Elderly volunteers go to the school to do towel exercises with students, encourage the elderly to do exercises, and cultivate the spirit of “care for our own aged parents and also extend the same care to all aged people in general” in children, so that children can learn to respect their elders and be filial to their elders at home.
- Students delivered handmade rice dumplings to the elderly center during the Dragon Boat Festival. In addition to thanking the elderly volunteers for coming to school to do exercises with them earlier, the children also learned to care for the elderly around them and to care for others.
Activity introduction:
- Cooperates with the nearby elderly center to promote the “Big Hands Holding Little Hands” activity to encourage children to learn to respect their elders from an early age and to understand and practice the Chinese culture of filial piety.
- Elders from the elderly center visited the school in 1st semester and did towel exercises with the full-day K3 students.
- Members of our school’s K3 traffic safety team learned to make rice dumplings during the Dragon Boat Festival. K2 students, accompanied by their parents, delivered the rice dumplings to the elderly center to share the joy of the festival with the elders.

- Invite the “Campus Ancient Village” organization to the school to set up stalls with the theme of ancient Chinese sports, so that parents and students can wear “Hanfu” to practice ancient sports and experience the atmosphere of ancient Chinese life.

- Members of the Parent-Teacher Association prepare Lunar New Year’s items together with the children.
- Members of the Parent-Teacher Association used the items which made by the children to set up the Lunar New Year Fair stalls, so that the children could experience the fun and atmosphere of “going for the Lunar New Year Fair”.

Name of Activity 9: “Values Education Camp for One Thousand and One Nights Graduates”

Activity goal:
Through the “One Thousand and One Nights” Values Education Camp for Graduates, K3 residential school graduates can participate in a series of experiential activities overnight and practice the four values and attitudes of “integrity”, “diligence”, “perseverance” and “caring” , let students know that they have enough ability and knowledge to enter primary school, and also leave beautiful memories of kindergarten study and life for students before graduation.
Activity introduction:
- In the Education camp, students complete daily self-care items according to the teacher’s instructions without the assistance of parents, such as tidying up and washing tableware, grooming and changing clothes, etc. This lets the students know that they can complete many daily tasks on their own, which improves their self-care ability and confidence.
- During the overnight Education camp, a series of group cooperation and task challenges were arranged to allow students to practice the four values education goals of this year: “Integrity”, “Diligence”, “Perseverance” and “Caring”.

Activity goal:

April 10 to April 15 is designated as ‘National Security Education’ week. All levels from K1 to K3 use the ‘National Security Education Picture Book’ created by Newly Worldwide International Education Company and based on the main goals of national security education of the Hong Kong Education Bureau. The books – ‘K3 Children Love the Motherland’, ‘K2 Visiting the Museum’, and ‘K1 Mom and Dad’s Arms’ – are taught from easy to deep according to the age of the children, to bring out the awareness, responsibility, and importance of jointly safeguarding national security.
